The DXC Dandelion Program is a paid employment programme designed to identify and recruit people from within the autistic community and provide the necessary workplace and job related skills to help build a career. This is done in a supported team environment with team members who are skilled in working with people on the autism spectrum.

DXC Workplaces

DXC have embraced a more flexible and agile work experience with some staff working at DXC’s office sites when the requirement of their role requires a physical presence. Others work from home when their role can be performed remotely online without visiting a DXC office.

The London Market Business is a joint venture between DXC Technology, the International Underwriters Association (IUA) and Lloyd’s of London, operating in the ‘London Market’.

The ‘London Market’ is a complex ecosystem of Brokers, Managing Agents, Syndicates, Companies and Experts, all of which use shared services to underwrite premiums and pay claims.

What is an Insurance Technician?

An Insurance Technician works under the direction of a Team Leader, performing a range of technical checks and processes (processing) and data entry across insurance risks for different customers and classes of business.

All work processed must meet agreed market service levels in respect of quality and turnaround time.

You will receive comprehensive training; but must have an excellent eye for detail and work to a high level of accuracy.

What you will be doing

  • Reviewing technical processing submissions for onward processing/data entry

  • Conducts technical checks on insurance documentation to ensure accuracy, using specific IT based systems to support the technical process with some supervision/referral where applicable

  • Input details into the IT systems/databases to initiate updates and closure of files

  • Reviewing / validating insurance data and documentation

  • Complete accurate reporting associated to static claims

  • Validating data and obtaining additional information to clarify documentation and where necessary correct inaccuracies.

  • Identifying potentially non-compliant data and initiating action to correct or resolve

  • With support where necessary, effectively communicating with customers internally and externally

  • Review and validate customers’ technical questions and issues through to satisfactory resolution within agreed service level timescales.

  • Manipulating large volumes of static claim data in preparation for automated system processing

We're looking for people who have

  • Strong numeracy, verbal and literacy skills

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Data-orientated and analytically minded

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS Office, especially Excel.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks to a high standard

  • Willingness to learn about London Insurance Market practices and procedures

  • Strong organisational, personal and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and natural curiosity to identify improvements
